Filming Credit and Awards
Clint Hempsall is one of Australia’s most experienced and creative underwater camera operators. He has worked on hundreds of short television features and documentaries, commercials, corporate promo’s, educational videos and other projects with experience on Mini DV, DVCAM, SP Betacam, Digital Betacam and High Definition formats.
Clint is a very hard working freelance camera operator committed to acquiring the best possible images on every shoot. Underwater and marine related subjects are his specialty. He is also an experienced topside cameraman who often shoots both the above water and underwater sequences for documentaries. Clint’s underwater photography commenced in 1979 with 35 mm still photography and he has shot video professionally on a full-time basis since 1991.
Filming projects have taken Clint throughout Australia, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Lord Howe Island, Truk Lagoon, the Bahamas, Papua New Guinea, Palau and Japan to shoot subjects including marine and terrestrial natural history, ship wrecks, maritime history, culture, science and research, fishing, tourism, surfing and action water sports. His diving and underwater filming experience includes PADI Dive master, PADI Open Water Instructor and Level One Commercial Diver qualifications. He has completed over 7000 dives with a perfect safety record including filming, commercial diving and operating resort based dive charters.
Clint is available for freelance filming and can supply his own underwater camera systems, underwater lighting equipment, topside camera and lenses, lighting and audio gear. His freelance rates are very competitive. Check FILMING EQUIPMENT link for details of gear.
